Over the past 10 years my connection to nature has deepened and my “need” for frequent interactions with it has increased. Green immediately calms me down, I feel my pulse slow and my thoughts become more focused on what’s around me. Mindfulness comes to mind, I have no need for a busy brain, the trees are teaching me to lean in to what is important. My senses sharpen and minute details reveal themselves - the curves of a leaf, the tenuous balance of a rock, tiny dew drops poised to drip. Elements and shapes have worked their way into my creative practice and nature comes to life in my art. Field Guide is designed to invite you to understand what grows and lives in your region.
